Panel Installation & Training

September 10-13, 2019

This is a detailed report of the work performed on the days of September 10, 2019 to September 13,2019. All work performed on these days are as follows:

September 10, 2019

  • Traveled from home to worksite

September 11, 2019

  • Arrived at 8:00am on site

  • Met with Management to update us on work/equipment

  • Matched mica rings to respected furnaces

  • Installed mica rings to the furnaces

  • Waited for furnace to be ready for panel installation

September 12, 2019

  • Arrived at 8:00am on site

  • Conducted first panel installation training (1st furnace/morning shift)

  • Conducted presentation for technical training of the Saveway System

  • Conducted second panel installation training (2nd furnace/night shift)

  • Replaced plugs (x2) in chamber box pigtail cable

  • Replaced plug in extension cable

  • Tested both furnaces after panel installation

  • Cleaned work area of tools and debris

September 13, 2019

  • Arrived at 8:00am on site

  • Met with Management to sign Report of Handling Over after Repair sheet

  • Traveled home from worksite

The installation and training of both furnaces completed, and both shifts trained, are as follows:

  • Cleaned holes around stainless terminal block of old k-wool and wires

  • Apply glue to the panel (start on the long comb and skipping every other wire)

  • Install the panels with glue to the inside of the coil grout so that the bottom of the panel is even to the bottom of the coil

  • Install all panels following the steps above^^^

  • Once all panels are installed take the respective long/short comb wires and terminate them inside the slotted bolt using the cap nut

  • After the cap nut are tightened with each slotted bolt getting their respective wire, cut the extra wire protruding out from the top, while holding the extra wire, and pack the holes using new k-wool

  • Glue strips of mica paper to the mica ring that covers both the mica ring and the upper comb of the electrode panel

  • Trained personnel

The information given in the technical training presentation are as follows:

  • Technical training of the Operators Screen (Levels of wear, Warning messages, Input Bar, Top view of Furnace)

  • The Basics of E-Panels (How our panels work, NTC, Basic Theory of Electrical Resistance, Long & Short Combs)

  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance (Proper installation, Bolt-PE Test)
